Playtech Latest Acquisition
Playtech continues to make news in the gaming sector
as they have agreed to acquire Gaming Technology Solutions Ltd.
The deal has Playtech paying over $10 Million EUR plus more than
$21 Million in further considerations. The addition of Gaming Technology
Solutions (GTS) will allow Playtech to expand their markets even
further since GTS offers games of skill. Playtech will now be able
to expand into markets like Italy and France. “Our agreement
with GTS is a strategic move: it will enable us to work with a true
open platform and integrate new games seamlessly.” Playtech
chief executive Mor Weizer said, “We have been looking to
enhance our open content capabilities, and in effect become an aggregator
of quality gaming content. Not many service providers can do that.”
Playtech is looking to move into the egaming market and the addition
of GTS makes that possible. Playtech already supplies gaming software
to customers all over the world and with GTS they will be able to
expand into the sportsbook area. “The success of the games
sections in sports betting operators sites is evident, and this
deal will give Playtech greater exposure to what is one of the fastest
growing industry segments.” Weizer added.
Playtech has been providing software for online casino
games since its beginning in 1999, and as can be seen by their latest
addition, they are not resting on their laurels.
